These are definitely not 8mm cheese head pressure plate retaining bolts....
Okay, so i'm in the clutch housing, and I go for my cheesehead tool...but wait. My pressure plate bolts don't seem to be cheesehead bolts, and if they were they are severely stripped...but it looks like someone replaced them with plain old hex allen head bolts?? Is it okay to remove the bolts with an allen socket? There's no way this cheese head tool is going to fit into this bolt head..

If it's an Allen head use an Allen key, why second guess yourself? Remember to loosen all of them a little a a time in sequence. It will help prevent stripping them.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUCCESS!!! I got the clutch off I got the clutch off!!!! The pressure plate allen heads were the easiest thing to get off!! I was so frustrated I took my 3/8 drive ratchet with 6mm allen head and aluminum pipe and held the clutch assembly with my right hand and broke the bolt with my left...no problem. They all came out easy!
I'm making a new thread now with my results! Definitely found my problem! |
