3rd brake light delete from late hatch?

Hi guys I have this 87 NA car I'm parting and it came with a spare late hatch non separated to replace the one on the car. Well The 87 will likely be parted so offered up the late hatch on Craigslist and sounds like my potential buyer wants to put it on a early car and delete the 3rd light. I am sure the 3rd light can me dismounted. My main question is the black mask on the glass. Can that be scraped clean? I suspect it can . Just checking if it's all been done before .

K Thanks I figured just didn't want to have an issue if I sold it off without actually getting confirmation.

Although numerous studies have proven beyond any doubt that the high brake light will significantly reduce the likelihood of your buyer being injured or his car destroyed in a rear end collision.

Just sayin'.

Yes, excellent point I need to put it in my 74, 911 and cover my ass.
Will offer it up in good faith, if buyer wants to be safe. I have the potential to scab the one off the 87 chassis.
I suspect my buyer may be challenged in grabbing that brake light + signal, so probably that is where the 3rd light delete request is coming from. I have the posts to help.

Picking up the current is easy, it runs beneath the C pillar right where the line goes into the body from the hatch. . .did this upgrade on my 931.

Rasta is right. I have an 83 with a late model hatch. Wiring the 3rd light is easy
