Replacing or Jerry rigging Seat Switch

Hey. My '86 951 vertical switch went out after working breifly and lowering the seat to bottom
Thanklfulyl I am a tall guy but I would like to bring it up a bit. I already took the surrounding bracket off and pulled the 2 switches out a bit, but I could only get so far and did not see a way to open the switch housing or even remove just the single switch.
I found the single switch for sale, but am wondering how hard it would be to rewire everything. The other option I was thinking would be to short the correct wires to bring it up and then just leave it alone or deal with later. Does any have any othought on either option?
Thanks, Greg

Hi, before you do anything else try shooting some WD-40 into the faulty switch. It just might get the contacts working again.

I've had the same happen with a brand new switch before and this worked like a charm. Good luck with it.

Use electronic contact cleaner. No residue.
