car won't start!

I had just replaced the engine with a new one. compression is good. fuel is good. but it looks like there's no spark. I've already checked the speed and ref sensors. tput the grounding strap on the bellhousing. the car cranks good, but there's no spark.

please help.

I too am currently having a starting problem and I fear it could possibly be the DME.

I'm not getting a spark from the coil (as far as I narrowed it down for now) but the engine crank is superb. I recently replaced the clutch and had to remove a considerable amount of wires and grounds (those annoying two on the bellhousing and those two sensors buried back there, ugh!)

I'm hoping I accidentally disconnect something else but those two sensors wouldn't have anything to do with my ignition at all, would they???

*keeps fingers crossed that its just something else simple*

ezbone, those two sensors are very important. those are teh speed and reference sensors. the DME uses them to determing spark timing.

when u crank the engine, do u see the tach bouncing? are you sure u put the right plug on the right sensor? if the tach isn't bouncing, swap the two plugs and try again.

also u want to make sure u have the sensors at the right height. there's an allen head bolt that tightens the bracket. loosen that bolt until the sensors are free to move up and down. gently push it down until the sensor bottoms out on the flywheel. then lift it up a millimeter. u'll have to do it by feel. tighten the allen and try to crank her up again.

good luck!
