need help with 944 headlight motor issue

I have a problem with my headlights going up and down on my 86 N/A 944. Headlights wouldn't go up even after I changed the relay on them. They worked when I put it away for winter. When I would manually put the lights up and then turn the headlights off to put them in the down position they went down!!! but they wouldn't go up when I turned them on. I switched out the motor and again the same problem. They will go down when in the up position but will NOT go UP when I turn them on.

ANY suggestions or ideas what might be the problem?? Has anyone had this same issue before??

Thanks everyone!
-Mike

Good luck with that!

I have the opposite problem as you. I put in a new fuse last nite and the lights would go up when I switch it on, but they wont go down when I switch it off. I left them up last nite and when I popped the hood to manually turn them down today, I noticed the headlight motor was warm/hot.

Is it possible the relay isn't dis-engaging after I turn off the switch/car? I had to jump it to start.

Porsche Crest Lubricate Concealed Headlight Linkage

Mstaz944;

Be sure to lubricate the Linkage-moving joints/parts in the pop up light assembly otherwise you may burn out motors prematurely. Every 6 months with with lithium grease (Spray with thin tube attachment) works best.

See Service Manual (s) hope this helps. Later.

Did you manage to sort your problem?
