Wiper system ground?
Early 944 or 924S.
Struggling with a inoperative wiper system. Rebuilt motor. Checked switch. PO cut a bunch of wires to remove radio. Does the wiper system ground terminate in the radio area? I noted that the wiper system shares the same fuse as the radio. Here's the cut wires in the radio area... 1st harness... (I think this radio power and speakers) Yellow White Red Black Brown Br/Yellow Br/Wh Br/Grn 2nd harness Brown (large, this is the one I suspect is the ground) Rd/Bl Rd/Wh Brown (small with terminal) Br/Wh (small with terminal) (this harness also has the ash tray light and seat belt circuits - all intact)

Just hook both Brown (ground wires) wires together and run them to a tempary ground spot to check your wipers out.

Checked the electrical diagram and it shows the wiper switch, wiper motor and the radio all grounded behind the firewall. That's got to be behind the fuse and relay panels. Bet there's something loose back there.

That is a spiders nest back there. You better take some muscle relaxer pills to work in that area. Don't forget to take the ground cable off the battery before you mess around back there.

Copy spiders nest. When I pulled the console I found a mouse nest down in the shifter well! Damn rodents had chewed through the inner and outer boots. A little rubber and a little leather - I guess they're not picky about their diet. LOL

Spiders nest
If you are working near the fusebox or under the dash (sounds like) consider removing the driver seat to get under there. It is only 4 bolts.

I've done that in the past and it does help to have the seats out for under dash fixes. I've got this wiper problem figured out. See my posts in...
Another '88 924S. I appreciate the bits of info and help guys.
