Driveability issue
I am having a problem during driving. Since it's not 951 specific I thought I would post it here first. First off 87 951. While I am driving the left side of the car, is hopping up and down. I can't isolate it from the front or rear. But it's getting very annyoing! It's like I have one wheel that has a flat sided rim. Anyone had this one before?

I was forced to put flat spots on 50 series tires before by a drunk guy inna Honda Prelude running a red light, but it was on all four tires. My guess is that you lost a wheel balancing weight or you have a bad tire that is now outta round or throwing a belt.

could also be a control arm, if the rubber wears off they might show those symptoms

Could be a flat strut or shock absorber.

Yea, after driving it more today I am also noticing a few more bumps in the road than ever before. This one is gonna cost me, might as well do all 4. Are the cartridges in the front replaceable seperate from the assy.?

An '87 951 is almost certainly going to have sealed struts. You're going to have to replace the entire strut, but that gives you the opportunity to upgrade if you want. I had the Bilstein coil-overs on mine -- a little expensive, but great stuff.

Money is not the *real* issue. It needs to ride great! Like it always has.

Right on the money! Ther was a 17mm bolt in my passenger side control arm that had been replaced and cross-threaded with a 9/16th SAE bolt. I removed it and tapped it back for a 17mm 1.5, and now it works great! Thanks for the solution, and for the quick fix!

Man, is that's the case, I hope that is the only one unless the PO was a monkey mechanic and lost a buch of nuts and bolts. SAE and metric usually don't mix.
