Balance shaft view and installation
 

can someone help me with finding an exploded view of the balance shaft belt installation.im at the last part of putting back together a basket case 944s and im in need of a view of the belt and pulley marks/install.

If you don't have the factory service manual. there is a very good write-up on the Clark's Garage website on all the do's and don'ts involved in the process. Read through it a few times until you understand every point that is being explained. Here's a couple of pics to get you started....the diagram shows the alignment of the notches in the pulleys to the bosses in the timing belt cover. The engine pic is one that someone posted here a long time ago that gives a great view of what the final assembly should look like after the idler roller is installed. Note the 'O' and 'U' on each sprocket and the orientation of the offset on the tensioner and idler pulleys. If you run into any problems as you do the job, post them here and someone will help you.
