tbar install question
i already got the spring plate out. the old tbar is still attached to it....how does it come off?
|
t-bar out of what? the torsion carrier or the spring plate? There are splines on both ends, you gotta give that sucker a couple of good yanks.
There, queued somebody up for a really bad off-color joke. |
Comes off with a bigger hammer than the one you're using. ;)
|
tried regular hammer. even took a punch and tapped a hole on the end of the springplate cap to try to push it out. it won't budge.
it won't even budge with 5lb baby sledge tapping on the punch. |
Bigger sledge - alternately pounding on either side of the spring plate barrel while holding on to the t-bar. I've never had one that won't eventually come out.
It's not a delicate operation. |
...i'll need second set of hands then. trying to contact some local speed shops...
