I am about to put on my water pump and was wondering what to use
as far as sealants. Its an 88 944S. Thanks! |

I'm not sure if you have to but Hylomar if i have spelled it correctly , but it is supposed to make it easier to remove the pump the next time. Oh and you can get it at harbor freight online only most likely.

Yes, hylomar is the best gasket prep to use. It is great stuff, resistant to just about every liquid in our cars and will not harden. This makes gasket removal in the future easy as peeling it off.. No more scraping.

A lot of LAPS (local auto part stores) should begin to carry it now. Available on the internet also.

Thank gosh Permatex started distributing it again. About 2 or 3 years ago they stopped and i only had half a tube left. I was at a PepBoys near where i work and saw 2 tubes left on the shelf, in well worn and aged packaging.. bought those up so i wouldnt have to order the stuff online. I can now sleep soundly at night knowing its readily available locally again..
. Yes, i swear by the stuff that much! .
