I have a 87 944 turbo and after I shut car of there is a valve near intake manifold that chirps after shut off for a minute or so I have not researched what the valve does but was wondering if this is normal? It does not matter if I drive it or just start it for a minute and shut off does anyone else have this problem?

I don't have a Turbo - but I do know these cars tend to make many "noises". There is so much electronic parts, you have to expect to hear this and that. Could be the fuel injectors shutting off?? Noises that are not "loud" or "scary" tend to just be the car doing what it does, I find.
....but like I said, I don't have a Turbo, so I'm only guessing here. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Hi JG, hey the noise your hearing is the turbo cooling pump it is located next to the coolant tank and, it will run for about 30 seconds after you shut the car off........ now you say it is making a squeling noise if so try spraying some silicone on the pump also remove the lil black top this is a cover for the pump shaft and put a lil silicone on this as well. If it is leaking coolant then a new unit can be purchased at Vertex for about 85.00, this is pretty cheap for the pump.....Happy Thanksgiving........Stan |
