Heh i just looked up the area code and its on the east coast of me... thats tight...but its pretty damn far still

If I had the money I would definitely drive there and possibly buy it. I would love to have an S2. If you like it and are interested in it, then give them a call and find out. Trust me, driving a couple hours to get a good car at a good price is a smart idea.

Bad points being-
1. I would have to sell my 1984 944
2. The "Arrest me red" paint job is not my favorite

However I am always complaining that I wish I had the horsepower of a S2.

My parents live in that area. Porsches that old are dinosaurs to the Palm Beach/Boca Raton crowd. That explains the low price. Boxsters and 996s are the most common Porsches out there. Ever driven down A1A in Palm Beach County? 996s and Boxsters every couple miles. Champion Porsche, the highest-volume Porsche dealership in the nation, is in that area. Coincidence?

here's some more text for you on that $3800 turbo in socal.

Dual Airbags, Car has minor front bumper damage,Excellent Interior, no cracks in dash, no rips in the seats. Both Airbags still in great shape. Car looks very well maintained, engine is clean and no visible oil leaks. Now is your chance to own a fine 944 Turbo for a good price! This car has damage to front bumper cover, and nose panel, from a parking lot incident. Insurance company totalled car out, due to + repair estimate (Bumper cover alone is over at the dealer!!!). Insurance Co's are required to use new OEM parts for repair, hence sky-high repair quote. Damage is minor, the airbags were not even deployed! -600 in used parts are all that this car needs to be used on the street. Car starts immediately, doesnt smoke and makes no abnormal engine noise. Everything works on the car, including the after-run pump for the turbocharger. NO SERVICE RECORDS, SALVAGE TITLE. Car sold AS-IS, no warranty expressed or implied. the part where they capitalize "NO SERVICE RECORDS, SALVAGE TITLE" scares me. It seems like they're saying, "hey, if there are any problems, we warned you." As if....they know there will be major problems down the road.

That turbo for $3800 would scare me too.
Don't expect to find a decent running 944 Turbo for that price.

Just moved there. ME at Cal Poly, on the coast, in SLO, doesn't get any better.
