Oil cooler: only 4 bolts to remove it?
Doing a reseal on my 951 with the engine still in the car (don't ask): does the oil cooler bolted above the lower balance shaft housing really just have the 4 13mm bolts holding it in? I've removed them & banged/tapped a bit but no-go.
Thanks, mark

Looking at the oil cooler plate/housing gasket it appears to have 4 holes for bolts.
Did you remove the OPRV valve with the 24mm top from the oil cooler housing? EDIT: This is the only photo I could find ![]() If it still sticks it may be due to RTV silicone sealer that was applied too thick on the housing seal. It may have sealed the housing to the engine block. ![]() GL John_AZ Last edited by John_AZ; 02-08-2010 at 04:21 AM.. Reason: Photo of oil cooler plate |

IT's never been out of the car & difficult to get tools in there, even with the exhaust manifolds removed. All 4 bolts are off but something else is binding it in there for sure.
