New connectors for injectors and sensors?

I am considering redoing some of the harnesses for the engine. At the very least I need new connectors for the flywheel sensors as both the harness and sensor side connectors are broken on those I'm also thinking of replacing the injector harness and maybe the wiring for the knock sensor.

Are these available somewhere?

I also want to replace the cables from battery, alternator and starter. What type of cable is recommended for this?

Any other potential electrical issues I should consider?

Battery cables:
Get 1 guage multistrand welders wire.
A few members get 0 guage and report no voltage drop when they mount the battery in the rear for a track car.
Use a Military battery connection and solder the copper fitting on the other side.

Thanks.
I've never heard of military style clamps before.
Why are they preffered?

NAPA. Ease of wire hookup and solid connection.

Also check with Lindsey-racing as they make up the complete looms for the injectors, knock sensors and a couple more wiring systems.

Thanks guys.
Is there any difference between welders wire and car stereo power cable?
Could I safely use the latter or will the jacket deteriorate due to heat and oil?

You have to consider the thickness, strands and like you said, jacket.
Cable is measured by AWG-American Wire Guage standards.
The smaller the number, the thicker the cable.

Welders cable can go a thick as AWG 0, 00, 000, ???? --really thick cable.
Normal welders cable is AWG 4, 3, 2 or AWG1.

Household power cords can be AWG 20, 18, 16, guage
You may have a car stereo power cord that is AWG 10 with many strands for flexibility.

The sheilding on the car battery cables and welders wire would resist the oils, acids and heat generated by the engine. Stereo power cords are not designed for these extremes.

Thanks John.

I will get welders cable to make sure the jacket is up to the task.

As I live in Norway we don't use the AWG scale, but I measured the original cables and they are 8mm in diameter which corresponds to 50mm2, which corresponds roughly to AWG 0. Next size down is 35mm2 which is slightly less than AWG 2. I guess that means I need to run 50mm2.

Should i run 50mm2 from the alternator as well?

When you measure the cable, you measure the wire---not the wire and sheild.

The alternator to the starter cable in much thinner. If you do not have any charging problems like dash light flicker at idle or the battery is not getting a full charge, use the OEM same size cable.

Yep, measuring the shield would yield quite misleading results.
I have no problems so I guess I'll just stick to the stock sizes.

Thanks for helping.
