Unhappy ??? about 944 Steering

I had an unfortunate situation in my '83 944. Rain washed a rock in the road, about 9 inch tall. Missed my air dam,& rad (how i have no idea) but got the sway bar, oil pan, and the K plate is split in two. My question, are the 924 front end suspension and steering the same as a 944 w/ manual rack? Will a 924 sway bar work on a 944? Anyone have a parts car with these parts? Anyone possibly looking for a parts car? Motor, trans, body still in great shape!

How many miles do you have on the motor?

The motor has 115,807. The valves, timing belt, etc... were changed 2,000 miles ago. not even enough time to change the oil.

I think the cross member & steering rack are diferent, but reat of the suspension is the same on the 5 lug 924.

I have a 'used' cross member I don't need. I can let you have it...

With the right caster bushings, and original Porsche front bushings, it's fully and totally usable.

Contact me if interested.

milage

Thanks for the info. I only have 49,000 on mine, so I'll stick with it. I've been toying with the idea of a new motor only because I have a very very small, slow, and steady oil leak (less than half a quart per month) that will be an evil beast when it grows up to a full-grown leak.
