Going to add a resonator this afternnon...the rasp has bothered me long enough. My exhaust guy is great at custom stuff, and he said that because of the muffler location our cars are prone to this rasp when you open up the exhaust and add hi flow aftermarket pieces. (same as Honda Civics, etc.)

He's going to check the hi flow cat to see if it gutted itself too. If that is the case, I'll make sure the resonator is a big one.

$80 installed ain't a bad investment I'd say. He said for extra quietness a resonator tip could tame her just a titch more.

Stay "tuned". lol.

I have a resonator in place of the cat with a Magnaflow straight trough muffler and still have lots of rasp. Let us know how it works out.

So you'll be running a hi-flow cat, a resonator and then performance muffler? This sounds promising - keep us posted!

...well...$75 cash.

He added an 18inch resonator to match the set up now.

So, hiflow magnaflow cat (12 inch IIRC) then 18 inch resonator then muffler.

Best friggin $75 bucks I've spent!

I am quite pleased. She's a tad louder than stock, but the raspiness is nearly eliminated. Its got that "there's more to this exhaust than it seems" sound. That is, until @ 6500 RPMs when she sings.

I am very pleased. Did I say that already?

I'll try and snap a few pics and post 'em up...stay on this channel.

That looks like exactly what I wanted to try after the 25" thrush glasspack resonator sounded horrible. I'm glad it sounds good. Now I know what to do when my cat no longer passes emissions. What resonator did you use? It looks like a dynomax bullet.

I think that's what it is, but there's no markings on it...the inside is kinda neat looking...there's raised inlets (@ 1/8 inch inlet hole size) spiraled in the tube. I'd guess that the inside diameter is just @ 2 inches.

Works like a charm.

For $75 bucks, I'm happy.
