85.5 Cruise Control Retrofit - Possible?
My 85.5 has no cruise control - and part of my "long haul" plan for this car includes installing a cruise control if possible.
While I see that there are a few aftermarket cruise control kits available, I'd rather, unless otherwise indicated, see if I can retrofit the genuine Porsche 944 item. I'd rather do this with used parts if possible - as I imagine that new parts for this might be quite expensive. So - is this possible? And if so...what do I need, materials-wise, and what instructional resources are available for this? Thanks! |

Yes..it is very easy..you'll need the brain "computer" for it, the control servo unit "engine bay" and should already be wired for it..sits in the upper left corner..look for a wire harness that is not connected to anything, and you'll need the switch which is in the turn signal control..you'll have to replace the whole swith..$175, but the other parts on ebay and hope for the best..Oh also you'll need the cable which runs from the pedal to the control servo unit in engine...if you want pics let me know...the brain connects in the driver footwell above the hood release..see if you have the connection there too...
