Roof edge strip removal
Quick question..
I believe the roof edge strip mounting tab is bent down over the driver's door which is causing the top of the door to bind a bit on the trim upon closing of the door (damaging the rubber seal at the top of the door). So, I would like to pull the strip off and bend the mount tab up a bit. Has anyone advice on removing the trim without damage to either it, the sealing rubber, or the roof? I'm sure it is a matter of prying it off, but, it would be nice to hear from others who have done it before I attempt it. I think the part number is 944 559 705 00, if my description isn't clear. Thanks Eric 1985.5 944 |

Update; decided to work on removing it last night.
The trim piece is aluminum and is held on by some clips attached to the body via post and slot. Taped up a flat screw driver and began to pry it straight out. Does not easily pop off, but with some work, it can be removed without damage. Goes on much easier! |
