radiator drain plug

Greetings All,
After successfully replacing the heater control valve and due to a momentary lapse of attention/sanity/skill/whatever I snapped the plastic radiator drain plug on the 87 924S. No problem, I ordered a replacement from Pelican (944-106-353-00-OEM) for short money but when the part arrived today it was not correct.
My plug is a coarser thread than the Pelican part. I do know the PO replaced the radiator so it may be an aftermarket unit.

Three questions: Is this the right part number for my car? If this radiator is aftermarket is there any way of identifying the manufacturer or is there a source for generic plugs? The local supply houses had nothing.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Jon

I just had the same problem on my '84. (Rebuilt) replacement radiator had no plug, and the old one didn't fit - too small and the wrong threads. I stopped by a radiator shop and they had one, $5 later I was on my way.

If the radiator is on the car - try to find a bolt that fits the threads, then take that to a radiator shop - they'll be able to match it. Or, if you still have your old plug (even if it's broken), they can match the threads from that.
