Picture to drool over... 924GTR engine

i had this on my computer and i totally forgot about i. it's a good old Porsche 375Hp 2 litre.

if you ask me. yes, it's my current background wallpaper.

yep, 2 litres and 375Hp on the average. they could get to 575Hp for qualifying but the engine lasted exactly 3 laps .

now bad. notice the dual water pumps.... one in the block and one by the block.

i don't even want to think of how much a rebuild would cost

i also have pics of a GTP engine. i'm pretty sure this is the GTR though.

Two water pumps? There is only one it is the one with a black pully.

forced induction is a wonderful thing. remember the f1 bmw in the mid-80's? something like 1.6 liters and pumping out over 1200 hp! and it regularly went all race long.

it was 1.5l and 1300. i just saw it on SpeedVision. i am gonna miss that channel. the turbo days were the stuff of legends. i would llove to see the current F1 chassis run 1300 hp. i guess 850 will have to do. i remember some reports of 1500 hp at the wheels on some of those old F1 cars. that is unnerving.
