Porsche Crest Refrence sensors

Is there any way to check them when their out of the car? Mine are in pretty bad shape and would like to know if this is the reason why my car wont start. Thanks in advance.

The reading from between the 1st and 2nd terminals seemed good but nothing registered from 1st to 3rd, that mean their bad? I dont have the best meter but it seems to have been accurate in the past, all i got was O.L. The problem im having with my car is that it will crank almost fire but the in just goes dead, but if I give it gas it will start and rev then die. It was running perfectly fine to my knowledge until i went out the other night tried starting it and nothing. This has me quite confused, Id say it could be something else but everything seems to be working just fine.

Your readings are correct. Go to Clark's Garage Home Page and follow engine start trouble shooting guide

are you getting a tach bounce? Did you try the DMW/ fuel pump relay 3 in 1 wire jump from 37a+b and 30 on the relay board?

I use an oscilloscope and check the waveform against that shown in the factory service manual.

Could the symptoms my car is having be because of a bad AFM? I've have a little stumble in my idle which might have something to do with the AFM. I'm gonna pull it tonight and check it using the guide on Clarks. Theres also a slight tapping noise that seems to start when its up to op. temp only when it whineds down I KNOW its not a lifter, is it possible it could be the AFM door flapping around?

Not the injectors either, AFM tested ok. Could a faulty FPR be causing all this?

A fuel pressure guage is the first thing I would use to check the FPR, find proceedure at Clark's Garage Home Page

Wasnt the FPR or the alarm i know the DME relay and fuel pump are good starters good batterys good only thing im doubting is the reference sensors they're in really bad shape and considering how it was running before this happened id have a hard time believing it was anything else guess ill have to drop the $150+ on new sensors.
