GoPro Camera

I was thinking about getting one, is any one using it and what are the pros and cons? I ran one on my car a buddy loaned me last year at Auto Cross, I love watching those old races and I have DE coming up in June at Lime Rock
what is the real time on the battery, it claims 2.5 hours? can it be recharged from a lap top not plugged in?
thanks

on the charging, yes.... if you have a USB (which most do of course). Not sure how long it would take, and how it would drain the battery on your laptop.

The HD ones take great video as they have a wide angle lens built in. the earlier non-HD ones had the wide angle option.

The major drawbacks seem to be the sound, which could be better as there is only a single little mic built into it. If you want really nice audio to go with it, you'll want to find a better way to record the audio. Plus the single button control can be tricky to sort out. Otherwise they seem rock solid.

You could get a power inverter to feed the laptop or the charger that comes with the camera. 100$ or so at walmart

Here's a bit I just took with one. . .I like the camera, and the sound seems fine to me.

I have a camera from oregonscientific. It's awesome.

Picture quality isn't exactly HD, but I don't care too much about that. It's mostly just to review and see if I can improve anything.

It was about $100 four years ago.
