Torsion Bar Left & Right

I am going to re-install some rear bars on a 86 951 NA, but I don' know how to tell left from right. There are some paint markings:

yellow on both bars - spring plate end I believe
brown mark on one bar
blue or purple mark on the other bar.

You should look for the markings the technician put on the bars when they were removed from the car. . .hopefully something along the lines of "L" and "R."

i know when my swayaways came, they were chiseled on the tips L and R

Yep, my CIPs did as well.

I degreased the ends of them and they are stamped L and R. So that is that. I thought maybe the paint codes were the indicator.
