Garage
Carnage pt2 -engine, undercarriage

So I had the car tranferred to my dad's since the garage was currently empty.
I went over this morning and took the belly pan off.
Here's what I saw:

Surprisingly seems the cooling system connections and radiator all stayed secure and didn't bleed coolant on the track or elsewhere.
From below:

So not my area of knowledge, please correct me, but looks like the belt is off the AC condenser and the driver side fan is pushed against the crank pulley.

Otherwise looks like I bent the tierod on the driverside, the otherside is straight. Other components I lack the knowledge to tell.

Back suspension pics

There was enough room for me to wriggle underneath and get some pics here too with the car on the dollies.

I'm not seeing anything obviously wrong here, looks much like the passenger side except I had to work around the exhaust to see:

This misadventure will certainly convince my Model T friend that I drive too fast, probably he'll never ride with me again, and he'll work harder at getting me to buy a T.
Opinions on what you see with your greater knowledge until M. is back from the northwoods?
A. at the shop said feasible from what he could see to do the swap but cost prohibitive to pay someone like him to do it. Always possible to come across something that will stop the project cold too.
I had told my brother I could see having more than one Porsche just didn't plan to do it this way

Lessee. Essentially every body panel is bent. The front suspension is trashed. The motor has moved. Who knows what's buggered in the rear. I think its a writeoff and time to part that puppy out. Dibbs on the rear konis.

Yes,
I made a valiant effort at folding the car in two. My brother suggested I use a telephone pole next time for a more complete fold.
Why would I give up the Koni's if I get another one? Besides I haven't asked my brother whether he needs them for his 944.

It's a go

M. (bro) saw this set of pics and still hasn't changed his mind about doing the transplant. One challenge will be trying to coordinate our schedules but we've managed for other stuff when needed.

Slow moving vultures here, I sort of expected some sooner

M. has 1st dibs on anything we don't use for the transplant. I plan on keeping those things you usually are telling new owners to get/have a spare. I think the entire interior will likely move over (my job, picky detail person that I am) since it is near perfect. No cracks, working clock and working original radio...sigh, I should have gotten a second 944 for the track.
I keep wanting a do over for that afternoon...
