Same bolt pattern?
I own a porsche 944 turbo and was wondering what other cars use the same bolt pattern? I'd rather not pay for a set of custom wheels. Are there adapters that work well if no other wheels will fit?
|
the bolt pattern is 5x130. which is only used by porsche. all porsche's are this pattern. so 928, 911, boxster wheels will all fit....if the offset is correct.

There is usually someone on ebay selling wheel adapters that allow you to use Chevy wheels. I have no idea what quality they are or how well they work.

What year is your turbo? You might want to look at Porsche Wheels, Tires and Accessories, they have a big selection of used factory wheels.

I have a set of adaptors I'd sell, which will convert 5x130 to 5x112 which is used by Mercedes-Benz and the 5-lug Audi and VW and possibly other vehicles.
What year is your 951? |
I was wondering mainly what rims I can throw right on without adapters at all. What other porsche rims will fit without offset adapters? I've heard 933's might work but I'm not exactly interested in messing with adapters to be upfront.

All porsche since 83 use 5x130. There only 2 other models from other mans that go 5x130. One is a mercedes model, other I forget, but think both might be SUV.

Other may be VW - not 100% sure. That would make it a straight-up, german only game.

Nothing wrong with using adapters/spacers under 2" depth. Even over the 2" depth they are safe to use but now one has to consider wheel bearing life. The further off center the center of the rim is from the center of the pair of wheel bearings the shorter the bearing life. Most Porsche hubs are spacers used to correct wheel offset and bearing center.
