Old shift boot leather

My shifter leather was so hard and tight every time I shifted gears it would pop up the right front corner and reverse would pop it out completely, (excuse to tell wife I needed the new Momo Combat Evo shift knob red and shift boot red piping coming thanks Pelican) so I had some time today and removed the whole thing and sprayed it with leather conditioner mostly on the underside and low and behold it looks and feels like new (still putting the Momo stuff on), don't know how long it will stay like this but till the new stuff gets here it will be fine.

Hows the rubber boot underneath? When Mine started shrinking and drying out, I noticed some hot air was coming out of there. Lo and behold the rubber boot underneath had cracked allowing the heated air from under the car to come up and dry out by shift boot.

James, I'm looking for a red boot/shifter. Want to sell that one? How's the condition (other than needing a good skin treatment after 20+ years)? --C
