Early Dash or Late Dash

I think I am one of the only ones on this board that actually likes the early dash setup in the 944. What do you all think?

I prefer the looks of the early dash but I think the later dash has better buttons, controls, and ergonomics. I'd say it's like comparing a 993 dash to a 996 dash.

I also prefer the white and red numbered gauges on the 924S compared to the piss yellow gauge numbers on the early 944. I'd like to do that conversion someday.

I just wish they were made of better materials. My 83 944 has been garage-stored most of it's life and the dash still cracked. In comparison, my old 82 Honda, which never saw a garage, had no dash cracks.

I thought I liked the early dash better, but I really like the way the tach and speedo move really fast in my turbo

One of my friend prefers the early dash, I also think it looks more hardcore, wouldn't take it over the late dash but it's definately appealing in it's own way.

The early dash looks racier IMO...
I dunno which one I'd pick though...

I think the Early dash looks a little more performance oriented. I just put my white gauge faces into the oil press and clock this weekend and painted the needles orange to match the redline on the tach. It looks great I can't wait to get the other three done. Any helpful tips before I get started

I think both suck...I like how Jap car kinda encompass the driver and put all controls and guages on the driver and not passenger..like the mitsu 3000gt and the rx7 . But I would definately take early over late....looks like a ferrari dash with the silver around the guages. -chris

I like the way the tach sweeps on the early dash. I know of no other car where the tach needle sweeps down and around. It's kind of neat, very unique. It's also very efficient, it puts the important area of the tach (2k - redline) in easy view of the driver through the steering wheel.

I don't particulary like the yellow faces though.
