Opinions on Rein brand motor mounts?
Does anybody have any experience or opinions on the Rein brand motor mounts? Are they the hydraulic style like the origionals, or are they solid rubber like alot of the aftermarket ones are?

I have been trying to find out more about Rein MMs as well.
Pelican has the best price of any seller for $115.00each-- $230 pair. The Rein web site is terrible for additional information. No information on MM build. Rein Has anyone installed Rein? John

I've got them in both my cars and they've been okay so far.

the Corteco motor mounts are the only ones that are hydraulic..they have the anti freeze or some kind of fluid in them..and they were the original motor mounts...just had mine done..my mechanic got them for $100 a piece..
********AZ has them for $161 a piece |

Mikepellegrini, how many miles have you put on them? do you have any vibration issues, especially at idle?
P944guy, have you had any experience with this brand in particular? I know the general consensus is the aftermarket ones aren't worth the time, but I'm hesitant to spend over $300 for mounts. |

Yes..when I first got the car in 2001 i had the motor mounts done and they lasted me til the first of this year...so overall they lasted about 9 years...had horrible vibration and engine shaking..I was at my mechanics when we changed them out and they were flat..about an inch lower than new and hard as a rock, and leaked out the fluid in them..especially the passenger side mount...I can tell you that once they are replaced you will say to your self.."why didn't I do this sooner"..I'm sure the Rein brand will be good for a few years but my mechanic.."Don Jackson" said that he replaces the aftermarket brand far more often than the original ones Corteco brand.....engine is nice and smooth at idle....however, there is still the inherent 944 shudder sometimes which is not related to the motor mounts...it's really not a hard job and I would probably do it myself next time..took my mechanic like and hour to do both..but was on a lift and has all the tools to do it quick..I'm looking into the 3 piece crossmember that I think someone sells..there's a guy in tuscon that makes them...

I put Meyle motor mounts on my 83 NA in 2006 and they failed with only about 20K miles on them. They were $67.50 here on Pelican at the time - half the price of the OEM Rein mounts, so I thought I was getting a good deal. Wrongo. Pelican no longer sell s the Meyles, and I'm guessing a high failure rate is why.
I put Rein MM's on my 951 maybe 5K miles ago and it has no problems yet. I haven't heard anything bad about them.
