Yeah I think we all have this happen from time to time. Long story short, I ended up training my replacement. I got the feeling this was all nice and premeditated.
Well, if you know anyone hiring in the Athens / Atlanta area throw me a bone. Ugh, still in shock |

you know, that happened to me when i was a paper boy at 12. thank goodness i was 12. i would have been a mess. taught me a valuable lesson: don't teach someone your job, no matter what your boss says. good luck.

i know how you feel
sorry to hear about your job. i was laid off almost 2 months ago. i know how you feel; i did a little training of my boss actually before i was let go. it's weird when you know way more than your boss, then you get the boot.
but i'll tell you what, i do get the feeling like it will somehow work out better in the long run. in the short run, it kinda sucks, updating your resume, job interviews (if you can get them), and the uncertainty of not knowing when you'll have positive cashflow again. the short-term perk is not actually having to wake up early for work. i'm loving sleeping in. i think i have it easier than most as i'm single, have a bit of savings, and only have my 951 to support. :-) good luck in your job search, and try not to stress out.

Ugh
Yeah, it's quite horrid timing I agree on that.
Well, I was managing a SQL database for a local linnen company then went out for production manager and ended up being offered regional graphic design artist. I took it and was trained by the current design artist "bosses son" but walked in today and was told "it's just not working out" nothing more. I stayed home today filling out online resumes and posting on monster, hot jobs etc.. Guess I will go out in the morning and find something to pay the bills while I continue looking. |

Sorry to hear that. Always a shame how companies let people go during the year-end holidays. It happens a lot and blows peoples holidays.
Good thing though that the job market and other things in the economy pick up in January though. That's something to look forward to. |

Sorry to hear about the job loss...............can't believe people do that during the holidays...
The only thing I can suggest ...is try and go off on your own.....Their is nothing more gratifying and rewarding that working for yourself. Self-employment is the way to go. Good luck in the new year. As I always say "It always works out in the end"............

I second that sentiment about going on and doing business on your own, if you can.
That way, you have better control of the situation. Otherwise, you're at the whim of humans who just see you as a number. |
