Best Porsche Exchange
I was at a light tonight with my wife in my 85.5 944 na and a new 911 pulled up and right passed us and I thought "snob, he didn't even look", next I see him in reverse and he asks us to roll down the window and he says "I always thought that those where the best looking Porsche's ever make" and all I could say back was " I was thinking the same about yours" we both laughed, and drove off admiring each others cars I offered a trade but I don't think he heard me.....

I like most any Porsche up until the mid to late 90s. I liked the 80's when they all had their own identity. I hate the head lights and how a Boxster and a Cayman look like a 911. And the new 928 will be a 2-door version of the Panamera. They seem a little bland to me. I hope Volkswagon will do something about this. Not that I wouldn't take a new 911 if given to me.

If given to me... I'd take it. Then sell it for money for my car.

The turbo is the best looking. Then the 968.

I appreciate any Porsche that's driven by a car guy.
Except the pepperwagon...

I love the new 911's I think they're the best looking 911's yet. And I think it's a tie between the 944 turbo and the 968 for best looking front engine Porsche. But comparing the two creates the classic apples and oranges arguement.

That's funny. Drivers of 996s and 997s do seem a bit snobby, don't they? Rarely do they look over when I'm driving one of my older 911s; never when I'm driving my 924S. And I agree, 944s are among the most beautiful Porsches. Personally, I favor the looks of the 944 over the 951... and I like the US bumpers a lot more than the Euros.

yeah 996 and 997 owners do seem kind of snobby, or at least just the ones who buy it for status purposes. The ones who are actually into Porsches are nice.

strangely enough i was thinking about this last week... lots of people like the euro bumpers more, and i used to as well. lately i've realized that the US bumpers have grown on me, i don't think i'd change them to euro bumpers even if i could find a pair.
i do think the 951 front end is better looking than the 944, but i wouldn't convert my 944, i like it how it is.

I like this new 928 concept but I'd really like to see a resurection of the 924/944/968 line. they can call it the...988? But that'd be great since the 968 was getting to be such a great sports car towards the end. Not to mention the 944's were great too.

Speaking of a new line, whatever happened to Porsche's version of the VW BlueSport? It was in the news quite a bit a few months ago. I haven't heard much about it since. ![]()
