Speed,Reference, & Timing Sensor

I cannot find any reference in the Haynes manual, nor on this forum about the third sensor that connects to the sensor bracket. From the parts catalog, it appears to be a timing mark sender - is this correct?

Secondly - is there any adjustment for this sender/sensor?

Picture is from Clark's Garage - modified to indicate timing mark sensor.

This sensor is only used by the Porsche dealer mechanic connects to Porsche test equipment.
If you follow the lead you will find a connector mounted to a bracket at the back of the camshaft housing. This connector is not connected to anything. I removed this sensor and blocked the hole.
