83 engine into 87 chassis

Hi, I know this has been talked about it for quite a bit and I have try searching but couldn't find an answer that I'm looking for.

I have a 87 944 N/A with some engine trouble. I found a 83 or 84 engine in great condition with 63K miles on it and I purchased it for $350.

So of course I will be doing a swap with early into late chassis. I know for the fact that I should keep the late afm and dme. Would the swap be pretty simple in terms of plug-n-play? What else should keep or delete from the late engine part? I also have a manual steering rack and therefore, it will make the swap a bit easier since this will be a track car only.

The other question that I have is should I use the late fuel injectors from the 87 or keep the early injectors?

I look forward in getting this project started and Thanks for taking the time to read this thread.
