outer window scraper install
How does the outer window scraper install? Once I have the scraper into the clips inside the door, I can't get it to stay put and flush in its groove. What am I missing?
Thanks for the help, Nathan |
I bought some from the main sponsor of this forum. I did not order original Porsche part.
When I got them, the packer had jammed them into a box that was too short, so they were bent an I had to straighten them out. When I tried to put them on, I discovered the groove on the rubber piece was not as wide as the one from the car. I was having the same problem you are having. Tried tapping it in with a rubber mallet, but it was getting to the point of maybe bending the door skin. I put the old one b ack on. Since then, I opened up the gap on one of them. I set the grove over a ladder leg that was about the right thickness and beat the strip onto it, opened up the gap enough to fit it to the door. Still does not fit well, it's so tight against the window, I worry every time I roll it back up that the damn thing will pop out. I will order O.E. when my budget allows. So, I f you ordered non orig. part, this may be what the prob. is. |
Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention its an '86 Turbo. Don't know if that makes a difference.
