A/C System charge and drier
Just had a new compressor installed on friday and the system is not blowing cold..and I'm usig R-12...it was or used to blow freezing and would have to turn it down it got so cold..now it blows cool but not cold that R12 should do...
So I was doing some investigating and I looked in the porsche 944 service manual that the receiver drier should be mounted with the "IN" connection points forward..so accroeding to the diagram in the manual my r/d was installed backwards...I do have bubbles in the sight glass..and the sticker for the amount of charge is like 33.5 oz., now if he only put in 2 cans of r12 at 12 oz each, do you think that they didn't put the recommended amount in ??? So 2 cans at 12 oz each is 24 oz. I am short almost 10 oz.... Can someone please confirm...and go look at how your r/d is mounted...is the "in" side towards on the headlight side or the engine side... attached a pic of how the new r/d was mounted, left side of pic is headlight side and right side of pic is engine side.... ![]() |
