Cross Post: I need to switch the oil check ball in my 83 NA head to the newer style. I successfully got the old one out, and also got the check ball out of my turbo head, which is the right style. The only problem is, I widened the original hole (that goes through to the cross-hole in the pressed-in piece) to 5/16. Will this allow too much oil into the cam tower now? Or is the real oil restriction the check ball setup, and it doesn't matter how big the top hole in the pressed plug is?
