Round or rectangular
 

I want to replace the crappy fog lights with something of better quality. The Factory Foglight Option was Hella Rectangular style, however, I can't decide if I want to be true to the factory option or use Hella Round style foglights.

I will leave it up to you guys to decide. I can go either way (round or rectangular, that is).

I'll gooe but with something like these which would ligth up your world,I wanted better ligthning from those crappy fog ligths but retain the oe look ,so what I did is install a set of Bosch Pilot clear lens inside the oe casing in order to retain all the attachements,this is a DIY job if need more infos just contact me.:)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284165528.jpg

I vote for rectangular Bosch . Great job Ernie ,those look absolutely great ! I also like the side trim pieces on them 951 style , as soon as i finish my car i will get a set of those but with amber lens , and i also want to get french amber driving lights.

It looks as though you cut the original lens middle out and left the edges to hole the new foglight in? What did you use to cut the glass of the original lenses? I'm always nervous when it comes to cutting glass and avoid it if I can.

Ok guys some 8 yrs ago is a long time to remember how you DIY a little project,specially when no pics were taken,the car was sold last summer & presently store in a garage the owner being away.But I got perm to go in & take a look at it & take a couple of pics .In order to have a real good look I would have had to remove the complete fog ligth assembly, meaning jacking the car, removing the wheel ect ect .This it is the best I can do.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284325648.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284325733.jpgV11 your rigth I cut rigth behind the flange that hold the class part of the fog ligth(first pic)& kept the back portion of it so I could fasten to bracket #3.It is difficult to cut since your cutting on an angle so taking your time is a must. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284326529.jpgin this pic you can see portion of the casing with the holes in it that you'll have to reuse in order to fasten to the oe brackets,you'll have to reuse those holes on both side.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284326881.jpgThis is the Bosche pilote casing once it's glue inside the oe one,also wires will have to be splice in order to make them long enougth to reach the Bosche Pilote connections. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284327600.jpg

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284328041.jpgLOL peace of cake:D I do remember assembling the set up out of the car & just sliding everything in after ,Don't remember for sure but I think I had to use shims in there to get the rigth angle,very important (the glue ) i will find out tomorow & let you guys know what I use,it a two parts epoxy (black & grey ) mixes together can't remember the name but once it bond nothing can it it apart.

Looks great. Where can you purchase the bosch pilot light retainers? I mistakenly thought you cut the original foglight glass but silly me, that's not how they mount.

The retainers come with the Bosche pilote when you buy them,otherwise it will be impossible to mount the ligths since nothing will be holding them.This is the beauty of the Pilot there is no gasket,you just fit the ligth in the housing & snap on the retainers on each side & has you can see no water water get's in there.Look at #6 they been there 8 yrs & look brand you ,even myself was surprise cause it's the first time I've taken them apart in all those yrs.

It was a pleasure for me to go & see "old faithful" again, since sometime I really miss that car & the pleasure of wrenching it.Here is the glue I use, this stuff will also bond steel or alluminum brackets to polyurethane or fiberglass.In the container there is 10 smaller containers once you open 2 of them to mix them up that it you got to use it all,you want to make sure you remove all excess cause once cure it get harder then steel.;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284390209.jpg
