Cant remove 944S Spark plug!!
 

Help,
I am having a heck of a time getting my old plugs outof my '87, 944S.
I am afraid i might break the sucker off in there. I put some penetrating oil by "Gunk" in there and let it sit for about 6 hours..no luck. Is there another product that I should try? Should warm the engine or keep it cool.

If it is that tight something is seriously wrong. Not to insult your intelligense, but make sure it is turned counter clockwise. Your not going to break it off in the head. The plug is steel and the head is Aluminum. If anything you will strip the threads in the plug hole. Most any parts store has thread chasers to repair the threads if needed. If you do muck up the threads and the thread chaser does not work email me direct I have another fix you can try.

Also if you have to chase the threads. Simply put a air hose on the intake manifold on one of the PCV nipples. Clamp it on with a hose clamp, regulate the pressure down to 30 40 psi. Rotate engine by hand, until air starts to rush out of the cylinder spark plug hole. Preferable the intake valve will be open and exhaust closed. This will stop the shavings from dropping back down into the combustion chamber.

This also works for the Oil pan when drill and tapping for a Turbo return line.

Thanks for your advise.
I managed to get the plugs out after letting them sit overnight with some penetrating oil down each hole. I put it back together and all seams well. With the exception of a loud rattling sound... this is either the fake diamond from my ring, or that little nut which fell in the plug hole. I assume this is no big deal. ;)
