Removing A/C lines that go into firewall???

Hi Guys,
The A/C hard lines that go from the engine bay through the firewall to the evaporator. Are they just pushed in with o-rings? How do they stay connected?

each line has a 6 pont 10mm bolt on an ac flange on the firewall that must be removed

you are removing - plan to sell them or put them back in at a later time? I just hacked mine off

I cut them and pulled...

I have a 1983 and they pass through the firewall with a 1 piece double grommet then connect directly in front of the evap housing.

I started up a new thread, but just in case any of you are subscribing to this one.

I have an s2 with o-ring leaking from firewall. I can get a socked and wrench on it, but do not have enough room to turn it. And suggestions on how to remove it to put new o-rings in with out hacking them off?

You can get a 1/4 drive socket to turn a click or two on an N/A. Remove the clamp holding the wiring harness bundle and push it aside for a little more room.

K, i'll look to move the clamp holding the wire harness. You can see the corner of the valve cover on the S2. I guess going from the top is the way to go then. You can see the dye that's leaked around the hose.
