Injectors stuck in rail
Removed fuel rail from the Intake manifold and how I want to pull the individual injectors from the rail and either send them to witch hunter or at the very least get the seal kit, some of the seals are kind of smooshed, just something while I'm in there taking off the manifold to reseal the tb with the arnnworx kit and some other stuff.
Anyway I can't get the damn injectors out of the rail I was under the impression that all that was holding them in was the metal clip and the upper seal, which after removal of the clip you should be able to just pull it out per this diagram. 944online.com Exploded View Porsche 944 Diagrams. Is it a vacuum issue? What I mean is does that nut on the rail (#1) in the diagram need to be released to release the suction holding them in or did the seal probably just glue the injector to the rail after 23 years? Any input is appreciated. |
if i am not mistaken, the final issue you are having is a dried up o ring, spray some wd 40 or penetrantwhere the injector connects to the rail , try to really get lube in there, and twist the injector back and forth , then pull out while twisting,
hope this helps |
u should undo the nut to relieve the PRESSURE that's inside the rail. fuel will come splashing out so get a rag underneath.
after u undo the clip, the injector just pulls off. it's prob old rubber that bonded with the metal |

Alright, stuck o-ring. Thanks for the confirmation, just trying to be careful as I have read multiple times that the rail is aluminum and can crack if you're not careful, also just messing around with the fuel system makes me nervous, don't want any leaks. |
