Rim fitment te37 on a 944

Could a 84 porsche 944 accommodate:

Front: 18x8.5 ET50

Rear: 18x10.5 ET40

tires:
215/35/18 Front. LOW PRO/stretch
245/45/18 Rear. Low pro/stretch

I would be willing to roll fenders and maybe slightly pull them.

Nikolai, I run 8.5X18s in the front, 235/40/18 and 10X18 in the rear 275/35/18 but it seems to me that your offset is wrong. The offset you have sounds like it belongs on a later 944. You have a Series 1 car like mine. Hopefully someone here knows for sure what the offset is. I thought the front offset on my car was 23 or something like that. IDK for sure...

To use late offset rims on an early car you will have to use 1" spacers/adapters all around.

when did the offsets change for porsche 944's? I haven't bought one yet but I want to because I have these great rims haha.

Do they make te37s in our bolt pattern even?

Sounds like the fitment would work with 1 inch spaces (which you may need if you need bolt pattern adapters).

yes they are 5x130. Somebody buy them so I dont have to buy a 944. these are $3500 just for the rims without tires. I will give you a deal with 6 tires!

The fronts will probably fit a late offset but the rear offset is too low i think for a late offset car. I think those are more ideally suited for a widebody late offset car (C4S, C2S, turbo..etc). They will stick out too far for a normal body car late offset car, usually you want to run in the 60+ range for rear offset. They would probably fit an early offset car, but dont quote me on that.

With 215 / 245 tires, a 944 will understeer like a pig unless you tweek the suspension settings.

I didnt have any understeer issues with my 964/911. However I can see how it would be differnt on a 944. If somebody is interested in buying them they come with a 2 extra higher profile tires that are like new.

Due to the severe rear weight bias, a 911 will oversteer like a pig if equally-sized tires are used front/rear. The 944 has a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution, so they are most fun to drive with equally sized tires all around.

The earliest 911s had pretty low power, but were still known as having diabolical oversteer until they started getting wider rear tires to compensate.

Of course, the tires are just part of the suspension system, so playing with spring rates, shocks, sway bars and alignment will all affect understeer/oversteer.
