944 manual rack swap to power

Ok guys I performed the operation.
I removed the faulty manual rack, tie rods and steering shaft coupler. I replaced it with a power rack, coupler and tie rod assemblies. The power rack was cleaned, flushed and filled. I then sealed the rack and mounted it. What a difference! The power rack is great (even though I did not add power assist). It is not any more difficult to turn.. might even need a bit less force to turn now. Also seems a bit quicker.

Anyway some simple pictures will eventually be on my site. Just wanted all to know the power rack can be used in manual mode only. No worries about leaking pumps or lines for those with leaking racks. If you fill it and seal it... removing the pump... no more pressure in the system. You will no longer have to worry about leaks. Well most likely.

Of course your parking lot steering will be more difficult, but I am used to that. My 944 did not have power steering and my 924 of course does not.
