Question Manual Sunroof Conversion

Greetings,

I'm quite tired of dealing with the stupid electric roof. an 83 944 is being parted out over here and I want to get the parts required from it. My question is how hard is it to do, what do I need, and how well does it work? At the moment only one arm is holding it down and the clutch will not engage to move it anyway. I wouldn't mind dropping a little weight as well.
Thanks in advance for any replies!

I did this conversion and it's easy and simple to do, and works great much less hassle than the electrics. There are some nice picture step by step directions on here but it's basically as simple as removing all the electrics, swapping the manual latches to the roof and modifying the liner slightly.

Thank you. I am very interested in doing this. Mine after 23 years is starting to be a pain in the rear. The manual one on my first 924 was a piece of cake to operate.

Just finished!
I got the latches from Carquip here in boulder at a great price.
Unfortunatly the camera is being used in NYC until tomarow night so piictures will have to wait .
The most important thing is being careful.
you will have to remove some material from the panel on the bottom of the sunroof.
It's a very easy job if you just don't start hacking at it.
Now I'm going for a drive in my "targa"
