951 Fuel Pressure Regulator in a 944
Can you do it?
I would think you could. You would just be running in the NA part of the 951 FOR range? If you read my other post I have what appears to be a bad FPR. I have a 951 FPR on the shelf. Anyone done it? Worst case is? |

You would be providing too much fuel.

Isn't a stock 951 2.5 bar and people go with a 3.0 bar when they install performance chips? I believe that to be the case. If I remember correctly a 944 is a 2.5 bar so in my opinion go right ahead and make the switch providing the 951 is a stock one.

2.5 versus 3 should not matter as I will not be going into boost. Yes? Or am I missing something?

your average wrencher...

the 2.5 bar is stock on a 951. people upgrade to a 3.0 bar with bolt-ons...
you will be providing too much fuel and it may actually run worse.

I can confirm this. I just put the FPR from a 86 951 in my 87 924s and it runs like a champ!
A side bar to this is I was getting horrible fuel millage for the last couple weeks as well as the exhaust was smelling like fuel (I have no cat). |
