944 Cab boot
Folks:
Although I have owned several 944s, I just recently acquired a cabriolet. The top needs replacement and the boot is missing. I purchased a boot from a Porsche used parts dealer. But, I am confused over the fit. The three snaps on the boot do not line up with the three snaps on each side of the top. Attached is a pic of the snaps on the car. Do they look correct to anyone? I am thinking that I got a top from the wrong model Porsche. Thanks ![]() |

The three pins in the picture are correct. The cabriolet conversions were done by hand and in my experience there is a slight variation on each car depending if Hans or Dieter did the work. Also, at the boot flaps above the rear seat area there was a transition from standard button snaps to velcro on the later cars, I think beginning in 1991.
