help!! alternator problem
 
i was driving my 85.5 944 when i stalled at a light(to occupied wit my girlfriend i guess) and it wouldn't start.. so i push started it and everything worked good untill the lights got dim radio stopped and then the car barly ran because the batt was dead and the alternator wasn't working.
- i did here my belt slipping but every time i looked the alternator was spinning??
please help!! is my transportation to school:confused:

If the belt is slipping, it will produce less charge to the battery. You need to tension up the belt and separately charge the battery on a battery charger. Then, with a voltometer, test the voltage at the terminals on the battery when you have started the car with the newly charged battery. The voltage you read should be around 13.8 volts (this is sufficient to charge the battery going forward) If not , replace or rebuild the alternator.
