Realistically, probably 19s but I don't know how well the car would ride...

Do you want width or height?

If you search around the 924board.org you'll probably find the answer to your question as they are experts on the narrow body 924 and stuffing the fender wells so they can be faster than the wider, heavier 944's

porsche has some pretty specific thoughts about this, and actually issued a memo warning about anything larger than a 17 on this series of cars

weight and offset is a major factor in determining maximum load capacity of the suspension and wheel mounting - the more weight, the more load - the more outside offset, the more load - remember to factor in the weight of the tire too

tire adhesion is another major factor - tires today grab much better - that's great, except that it also adds more load to the suspension - keep that in mind

hubs fail - ball joints break - tie rod ends snap - wheels fall off - stuff like that - it's not pretty

Simple enougth you'll be putting unwanted stress on your suspension components, 18" or 19" wheels will deteriorate the ride as most peoples have find out.Read carefully what Flash is saying cause he's rigth & like mention, Porsche has issues a warning about not going over 17" on those car. Most guys do it because they want the boys racer look & big shinny wheels & don't really care about the adverse effects it has on their car.My choice if I had your car will be 16" or even 17" (cause 17" will give you more choice in the tires size) but no higher.Pic is off a 931 with very nice 16" C5 spoke on it.

check it out.

old tires:

Skid marks i was talkin bout:

New Tires:

New Tires after a long 3 hour drive through a nice and curvy road:

all that black stuff under shiny grinded bolt is rubber.

this is a close up on the inside of the rim and you can see all the rubber chunks that came off.

if you look at the side wall you can see where the wheel well and that bolt hits on the tire, and that bolt became shiny from all the rubbing. and this was the first time i drove the car with the new tires on it.

Hole chit batman, that's some bad rubbing~! I have the same size tires on the back of my 931, no rubbing:

16x8 D90s for the rear, 16x7 for the front, wheels are late offset from a 944s2.

What offset are dem dere rims?

I currently have 235/40/17s on mine, I rolled the lips for 245s and no problem, the 265/35/18s were just a bit too big.

(It is sitting high because I just dropped the jack & hadn't settled yet)

Remember, 9X16" 993 wheels have a 70 mm offset and require a spacer so not to rub the inner wells (been there, done it)

I'm no wheels expert by any mean but believe what you got on there are from a 95-993 they would have came in 7-8 & 9".Hard to say how wide they are by looking at the pics but they look like 9"x16 witch will be definitely to wide for your car & probably the wrong offset. To make matter worse your running super wide tires for a 924S without roll up lips. What you can do is take one off & get the offset number & send it in ,then some off the wheels Guru here can tell you what going on.Just want to mention, that by looking at your (rubbing pics) you do have a safety issue here riding on them wheels & my best piece of advice will be not to drive your car with those on you migth get hurt & maybe some other peoples at the same time, another reason is that you have a very nice 924S & it will be a pity to ruin it. Here is what to look for (size & offset)
