924 motor mounts-reuse or replace?
Am rebuilding the my 1982 924's engine.
Just removed these. Far as I know they are the originals from 1982 Clean up and reuse? or Buy new ones? If replace.....got a good source??? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1292376529.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1292376551.jpg |
Honestly I would replace them anyway.
Just think about how nice it will be to have a smoother engine after it gets rebuilt. |
Nothing like using nearly 30 year old motor mounts, made of rubber..... (ugh facepalm)
New ones please. |
I am replacing mine with these
Awesome - Vibratechnics 924 ENGINE MOUNT LH & RH (ROAD) I tried to source the OEM ones ; they are like hen's teeth. I am assured these are much better. |
924
Am planning on replacing
Was curious as to how many would say.........clean & reuse Still trying to find a good source for OEM or aftermarket |
If you do a search here on motor mounts you may find a lot of valuable info. IIRC there are warnings on the makes to avoid. Tazzieman, I have not heard of those motor mounts. Maybe you should inquire about them or research them. GLASEM, you absolutely should replace the mounts because they are toast after 30 years of use... Good luck with your project!

I put Vibratech on my 931, and they seem very well-made (but a bit expensive). Slightly more vibration than stock, but new were NLA and old were shot. . .especially the passenger side after being oil soaked and brutally baked over 30 years.
