Highest HP& Tq using K26-8 Turbo vs K26-6

Guy's and Gals:

Just wondering, what are the greatest power attainable from the Stock K26 Turbo's? I'm looking to upgrade my 16V for more power using the K26 Turbo's I have a K27 for rebuilding also for consideration, but not sure . It's going to be a low pressure system running to 4-7psi due to my ~11:1 compression.
I know there is a ~ 30hp difference at between the 86-88 Turbo and the Turbo-S 88/89 vehicles stock.
;)Please feel free to post dyno's for visual references or PM Me.

Thank you in advance

Does the Turbo S run more boost than 11psi on the K26-8?

Just wondering???

Any response would be greatly appreciated, Thanx.

I think it runs the same boost on a larger compressor giving more cfm.. im probably wrong though

Same boost & same compressor as -6, but larger turbine. Provides more power at top end of rpm range.

K26/8 is at top of it's limit around 330 or so. But you need to run like 20psi (in a low comp engine) to see that.

Latest info:

The compressor wheels on K26-8 is 46mm Ex and K26-6 is 44mm and also Turbine Exducer on K26-8 is 55mm Vs 48mm on the K26-6.

The K26-8 tops out at 350hp at 17.64 psi while the K26-6 ends at ~310 around 18psi...

Looks like the K26-6 spools up around 300-600 rpm sooner.

Looks like a K26/27-6 is the way to go... for more flow and good drive-ability all around...

What do you guys say?

Good topic though.
