83 DME Upgrade question
 

Im looking into chipping my 83. What Models can, and cant I use? Can I use the DME and AFM from a 87 turbo? Or no. Do I have to stay with the NA models?

You have to stay with the NA models and must use the DME and AFM from the same car on later years. I don't know when removable chips were first introduced though. I sent my 83 DME to Wilks to get it chipped many years ago and was very happy with the results. It had a factory setting and a chipped setting.

get the AFM and DME from an 85.5 or later model. you must do both as the voltages differ between the later and earlier models.
