transmission oil

good morning

my transmission is getting noisy when the temperature of the oil is rising up.
now i am using Texaco 80w. i change it before 100 miles. now i am thinking to use Omega 690. i know that is expensive. any suggestions are welcome.

According to Clarke's:

The factory shop manual calls for hypoid transmission oil SAE 75 W 90 to API Class GL5 or MIL-L 2105 B, or SAE 80 to API Class GL or MIL-L 2105. What does all that mean? I don' t have a clue.

Better, but more expensive alternatives to the standard transmission oil (IMHO) are Redline Synthetic MTL, Swepco 201, or Mobil 1 75W/90 gear oil.

80W may not be correct. I had never heard of Omega and it doesn't say what weight it is. Try Mobile1 first.

Are you sure your shifter is tight? The pin and the plastic piece wear among other things. Is there play when you twist the lever?

I'd go straight to Redline's MT-90. That's what I've run in all my 944s, and it's what Redline recommends for these cars. Can be a bit tough to find, but based on my conversations with folks that have tried a ton of options, it's more than worth the effort.
